  1. On this record many of the best-known Irish folk tunes are sung with the appropriate gaiety and at times even abandon. The Halliard are three in number. Dave Moran, lead singer, Nick Jones and Nigel Pattison, both of whom play guitars and perform throughout the country singing all types of folk songs, both Irish and English.3/5(4).
  2. The bulk of Halliard's material was broadside ballads, to many of which they wrote their own tunes. However, they couldn't interest Saga, which wanted a record of Irish songs.
